We invite you join us on 19th of May from 6 to 8:30 pm at Kerri Greens Winery to take part in a multi-artist exhibition of forest habitat, owl and raptor artworks to raise awareness to The Owls Safe Zone campaign hosted by the Habitat Restoration Fund.

An evening of art, education & local collaboration

with

live music, wine and nibbles!

All donated artworks and merchandise sales will go toward funding owl research at Deakin University and habitat restoration.

At 6:30pm, 3 key speakers will chat about the issues that our fauna faces from the indiscriminate use of rat bait in our homes, properties and businesses while assisting the community in identifying safer methods of rodent control.

The Owls Safe Zone campaign specifically seeks to highlight the danger of using Second Generation Rat baits (SGARS) to control rodent infestations in our homes and properties. It is an educational and fundraising campaign to highlight how these SGARS toxins remain ‘active’ in the deceased animal which then becomes a toxic bomb for the next animal that consumes the deceased rodent or other animal.

We can restore hectares of forest but without our birds and animals to inhabit it will never achieve a healthy biodiversity or any form of equilibrium - for all are important in the story of a healthy forest.

The Habitat Restoration Fund’s primary mission is to restore indigenous habitat in Australia’s forests for a return to a biodiverse equilibrium. This mission ensures our diverse and unique flora and fauna can survive and thrive. Working in this environmental space for the last 17 years has revealed that it is not only land clearance and exotic flora and fauna interference with our soils and topography that are harming the health of our country but also the culturally accepted toxic practices that impact the life of our ‘Aussie Animals’.

The mission to heal country has become broader.

Help us to stop the unnecessary killing of our owls, raptors, marsupials and exotic pets.

We look forward to having you there to help spread this important message to local communities.
