Introducing the new “Duke” wine. Now called Messire this 2023 Chardonnay has come up the vineyard directly next to our cellar door in Red Hill.

The nose has an earthy aura with grilled almond, macadamia and nutmeg over Meyer lemon, lime and nectarine. It’s tightly coiled and concentrated in the mouth with a firm, medium-bodied palate. The wine has energy and yet is calm; there’s a sense of emerging detail as you taste and also as it evolves in the glass. Citrus and stone fruits are interlaced with almond meal, fennel and smoky flint, and a strong tug of limey acidity pulls it long through the finish.
